This tutorial will show you step by step how to build a window awning that is easy to install, quick and inexpensive
The first step is to find the right material for your window awning. You can use any material you want, but I like to use PVC pipe because it is light weight and easy to work with. The only thing that you need to be careful of is that the material should not be too heavy or else it will blow away in the wind
Once you have found your material, measure out the spacing between each pipe so that they are spaced evenly apart on both sides of your awning. Then drill holes into each pipe where they need to be drilled and insert screws into each hole so that they are holding the pipes together securely. Then connect all of your pipes together with more screws and make sure that they are securely connected together so that they do not fall over during windy weather conditions
Next, lay out all of your fabric on top of one side of your window awning (this will be the side where you open up) and cut out squares out of each piece for each side of the window awning.
build a window awningThe sash on an awning window is hinged at the top of the frame, and the bottom swings outward. Some awning windows are pushed open and pulled closed manually with a handle, while others are operated with a hand crank.
