Casement windows are hinged at the side and open outward, either to the left or right, using a crank handle. This design allows for maximum ventilation and unobstructed views, making them a popular choice for homeowners who want to bring the outdoors in. Andersen casement windows are available in a variety of styles, materials, and finishes, making it easy to find the perfect fit for your home's aesthetic.
There are several advantages to choosing Andersen casement windows for your home, including:
Andersen casement windows are designed with energy efficiency in mind. The tight seal created when the window is closed helps to prevent drafts and air leakage, which can lead to significant energy savings over time. Additionally, Andersen offers a range of glass options, including Low-E4 glass, which helps to reduce heat transfer and UV rays, further improving your home's energy efficiency.
One of the primary benefits of casement windows is their ability to provide excellent ventilation. Because they open outward, they can catch side breezes and direct fresh air into your home. This is particularly beneficial in rooms that require more airflow, such as kitchens and bathrooms.
Andersen casement windows are equipped with multi-point locking systems, which provide added security for your home. When the window is closed and locked, it is virtually impossible to pry open from the outside, giving you peace of mind that your home is protected.
Casement windows can be installed as a single unit or combined with other window styles, such as picture windows or bay windows, to create a custom look for your home. This versatility allows you to design a window configuration that best suits your home's architecture and your personal style.
When selecting Andersen casement windows for your home, there are several factors to consider, including:
Andersen casement windows are available in a variety of materials, including wood, vinyl, and composite. Each material offers its own set of benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to weigh your options carefully.
Wood:Wood windows provide a classic, timeless look and can be painted or stained to match your home's decor. However, they do require regular maintenance to prevent warping, rot, and insect damage.
Vinyl:Vinyl windows are low-maintenance and energy-efficient, making them a popular choice for many homeowners. However, they may not offer the same aesthetic appeal as wood windows and can be more susceptible to damage from extreme temperatures.
Composite:Composite windows, such as Andersen's Fibrex material, combine the beauty of wood with the durability and low-maintenance qualities of vinyl. These windows are resistant to rot, warping, and insect damage, making them a long-lasting option for your home.
Andersen casement windows are available in a range of styles to suit your home's architecture and your personal taste. Some popular options include:
Traditional:Traditional casement windows feature a simple design with clean lines, making them a versatile choice for any home.
French:French casement windows have two sashes that open outward from the center, creating a wide, unobstructed view. These windows are ideal for homes with a European or traditional aesthetic.
Arts and Crafts:Arts and Crafts casement windows feature decorative grille patterns and hardware, adding a touch of artistic flair to your home.
Andersen offers a variety of hardware and finish options for their casement windows, allowing you to customize the look and functionality of your windows. Some popular hardware choices include:
Crank Handles:Crank handles are the traditional method for opening casement windows and are available in a range of styles and finishes.
Push-Out Handles:Push-out handles allow you to open the window by simply pushing it outward, providing a sleek, modern alternative to the traditional crank handle.
When it comes to finishes, Andersen offers a wide selection of colors and materials, including brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, and satin nickel, so you can find the perfect match for your home's decor.

This newly built private house is in Sydney, Australia. The area occupied by the fenestration system in our scheduled design drawings was up to more than 110 square meters. A wide range of design details made the perfect mix of modern aesthetics and traditional sophistication, the simulated vertical hung windows with tilt & turn opening systems in this home are absolutely breathtaking. SDLS (Simulated Divided Lites with Spacer Bar) brings some historical vintage feeling to the whole building without losing any energy saving performance. Long narrow fixed windows creating larger-than-life expenses, coupled with German high-end systems made this project stand out from the rest.
The client's idea was to maintain a certain vintage feel, and our aim was to meet the energy efficiency needs and standards of modern houses as much as possible while maintaining a retro design. Doorwin’s 61S simulated hung windows with tilt & turn openings is a respectful modernization of a classic architectural masterwork.
Why choose the tilt and turn opening method?
Because it generally has better air seals than sliding, single hung, or double hung window frames. Tilt and turn windows form a complete seal when fully closed, this means they are less prone to water leakage, and cold draughts and you’ll keep more of your heating indoors where it belongs. They can be opened in the upper tilt way to ventilate at a minimum opening status and are easy to clean outside of the glass; when there’s a good day, they can be opened as normal inward casement windows.
Our well-crafted bespoke systems enhance the functionality and panoramic view of this modern house.
Huge, fixed glass walls up to seven meters long and two meters high bring great lighting and open views, making it really refreshing to the mind. Five meters high long narrow windows give the whole building a contemporary aesthetic.
Every window’s placement and shape not only add to the uniqueness of this home but also provide a more energy-saving ability for the owners.
Doorwin energy-efficient integrated glazing units feature double-pane glass, warm-edge spacers, argon gas fill, Low-E coatings, and fully tempered glass, they can not only create a comfortable and natural indoor environment but also save electricity bills and heating bills of more than 100 USD for the owner, it’s a real bargain compared to choosing a regular glazing set.
Aluminum Door offered an air of uniqueness and elegance to a home. With their luxurious patterns and beautiful finishes, it provides this house with a bounty of aesthetics and security. Aluminum entry doors allow you to resist any weather extremes, corrosion, and pests. So aluminum is one of the most resilient and durable materials you can select for front doors considering the price/performance ratio.
With pieces of double panes, and Low-E tempered glass. The door provides a good insulation performance.
Divided lite windows and doors offer unique architectural solutions for buildings without compromising energy efficiency or aesthetics. Doorwin provides multiple muntin and glass options to customize your divided lite windows and doors. Further customization is available with a variety of colors and materials, creating an infinite number of design combinations to best suit your style.
In this project, we use SDLS (simulated divided lites with spacer bars), these bars permanently adhere to both sides of the glass, and spacer bars are installed between the glass, this is the most energy-efficient way to create the look of classical décor grilles. The windows in the bathroom bedroom and study have an Arch Transom Design, making these rooms, which are often used by the owner, have some traditional aesthetics.
