Casement windows are a popular choice for homeowners due to their versatility, energy efficiency, and timeless appeal. One essential component of these windows is the screen clips that hold the screens in place, allowing for easy removal and cleaning. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the different types of casement window screen clips, how to choose the right ones for your home, and tips for proper installation and maintenance.
Before diving into the world of casement window screen clips, let's first understand what casement windows are and why they require screen clips. Casement windows are hinged at the side and open outward, either to the left or right. They are usually operated by a crank or lever, making them easy to open and close.
Screen clips are essential for casement windows, as they hold the screens in place while allowing for easy removal when needed. These clips come in various styles and materials, ensuring that there is a perfect fit for every casement window.
There are several types of casement window screen clips available in the market, each with its unique features and benefits. Some of the most common types include:
1. Slide-in Clips:These clips are designed to slide into a groove on the window frame, holding the screen in place. They are easy to install and remove and are ideal for windows with a narrow frame.
2. Swivel Clips:Swivel clips are designed with a rotating mechanism, allowing the screen to be easily removed and reinstalled. These clips are perfect for windows with a wider frame and provide a secure hold on the screen.
3. Spring-loaded Clips:These clips feature a spring mechanism that holds the screen in place and allows for easy removal when needed. Spring-loaded clips are suitable for both narrow and wide window frames and offer a secure hold on the screen.
4. Turn-button Clips:Turn-button clips feature a small button that, when turned, secures the screen in place. These clips are easy to install and remove and are ideal for windows with a slim frame.
5. Magnetic Clips:Magnetic clips use strong magnets to hold the screen in place, making them an excellent option for casement windows with metal frames. These clips are easy to install and remove and provide a secure hold on the screen.
When selecting the perfect casement window screen clips for your home, consider the following factors:
1. Window Frame Size:The size of your window frame will determine the type of clip that will work best. For narrow frames, slide-in or turn-button clips are ideal, while swivel or spring-loaded clips are better suited for wider frames.
2. Material Compatibility:Ensure that the clips you choose are compatible with your window frame material. For example, magnetic clips work best with metal frames, while other types of clips are suitable for wooden or vinyl frames.
3. Ease of Installation and Removal:Choose clips that are easy to install and remove, as this will make cleaning and maintenance more manageable.
4. Aesthetics:Select clips that complement your window's design and overall home aesthetic. There are various clip styles and finishes available, so you can find the perfect match for your casement windows.
Once you have chosen the right casement window screen clips for your home, follow these tips for proper installation and maintenance:
1. Clean the Window Frame:Before installing the clips, ensure that the window frame is clean and free of any debris, as this can affect the clip's performance.
2. Follow Manufacturer Instructions:Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing and removing the clips. This will ensure that your clips function correctly and last for a long time.
3. Regular Maintenance:Regularly inspect your casement window screen clips for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged clips as needed to ensure that your screens remain securely in place.
4. Cleaning the Clips:When cleaning your casement windows, take the time to clean the screen clips as well. This will help maintain their performance and prolong their lifespan.
With the right casement window screen clips and proper maintenance, you can enhance your home's aesthetics and functionality. By understanding the different types of clips and choosing the perfect fit for your casement windows, you can enjoy the benefits of easy screen removal and cleaning, as well as a secure hold on your screens. Happy home improvement!
Casement windows are the most common style of window. They feature hinged panels that swing open and closed. Casement windows are available in single panels or multiple panels. The direction a door swings, either to the right or the left, is called the handing. In addition to handing, window are identified as either inswing or outswing depending on whether they open into the house or towards the outside.

This newly built private house is in Sydney, Australia. The area occupied by the fenestration system in our scheduled design drawings was up to more than 110 square meters. A wide range of design details made the perfect mix of modern aesthetics and traditional sophistication, the simulated vertical hung windows with tilt & turn opening systems in this home are absolutely breathtaking. SDLS (Simulated Divided Lites with Spacer Bar) brings some historical vintage feeling to the whole building without losing any energy saving performance. Long narrow fixed windows creating larger-than-life expenses, coupled with German high-end systems made this project stand out from the rest.
The client's idea was to maintain a certain vintage feel, and our aim was to meet the energy efficiency needs and standards of modern houses as much as possible while maintaining a retro design. Doorwin’s 61S simulated hung windows with tilt & turn openings is a respectful modernization of a classic architectural masterwork.
Why choose the tilt and turn opening method?
Because it generally has better air seals than sliding, single hung, or double hung window frames. Tilt and turn windows form a complete seal when fully closed, this means they are less prone to water leakage, and cold draughts and you’ll keep more of your heating indoors where it belongs. They can be opened in the upper tilt way to ventilate at a minimum opening status and are easy to clean outside of the glass; when there’s a good day, they can be opened as normal inward casement windows.
Our well-crafted bespoke systems enhance the functionality and panoramic view of this modern house.
Huge, fixed glass walls up to seven meters long and two meters high bring great lighting and open views, making it really refreshing to the mind. Five meters high long narrow windows give the whole building a contemporary aesthetic.
Every window’s placement and shape not only add to the uniqueness of this home but also provide a more energy-saving ability for the owners.
Doorwin energy-efficient integrated glazing units feature double-pane glass, warm-edge spacers, argon gas fill, Low-E coatings, and fully tempered glass, they can not only create a comfortable and natural indoor environment but also save electricity bills and heating bills of more than 100 USD for the owner, it’s a real bargain compared to choosing a regular glazing set.
Aluminum Door offered an air of uniqueness and elegance to a home. With their luxurious patterns and beautiful finishes, it provides this house with a bounty of aesthetics and security. Aluminum entry doors allow you to resist any weather extremes, corrosion, and pests. So aluminum is one of the most resilient and durable materials you can select for front doors considering the price/performance ratio.
With pieces of double panes, and Low-E tempered glass. The door provides a good insulation performance.
Divided lite windows and doors offer unique architectural solutions for buildings without compromising energy efficiency or aesthetics. Doorwin provides multiple muntin and glass options to customize your divided lite windows and doors. In this project, we use SDLS (simulated divided lites with spacer bars), these bars permanently adhere to both sides of the glass, and spacer bars are installed between the glass, this is the most energy-efficient way to create the look of classical décor grilles. The windows in the bathroom bedroom and study have an Arch Transom Design, making these rooms, which are often used by the owner, have some traditional aesthetics.

For windows and doors, hardware is as important as the engine is to the car. The continuous technological innovation of the European hardware industry has strongly promoted the performance improvement and functional innovation of windows and doors. In this project, Doorwin uses Hoppe™ multi-point locks, hinges, and handles from Germany.
Multi-point lock systems provide not only the burglar-resistance but also a tighter compression seam, making the window keeps good energy-efficient performance. Together with Technoform Bautec’s insulation edge bond and sealant strips, these make up our products' top insulation and energy-saving performance.
We have several international patents to reduce clients’ labor costs, such as our unique flanges and assembly type tubular design, which is different from the other products on the market. What sets us apart among Chinese counterpart is that all our products are equipped with nail fin structures for quick and easy installation.
