A Guide to Building a Window Film Screen for a 4FT x 11FT Picture Window

If you're looking to build a custom window screen for an indoor or outdoor window of any size, I've got a guide for you. A simple step by step guide will help you plan out your custom-made frame and help you keep vandalism out of your 4FT x 11FT picture window

Step One

Measure the length and width of the window using a ruler. Measure from one end of the frame to the other end of the frame. This measurement should be equal to or slightly larger than the width and length of your window (you can use an extension cord if it's too small)

Step Two

Now that we have our measurements, we can start cutting out different sized pieces of cardboard for each side of our frame. You can use 3/4" thick cardboard or 1/2" thick cardboard depending on how sturdy you want your frame to be. Make sure to measure twice before cutting so that there are no mistakes! Measurements should be accurate when cutting out strips because they'll be used in multiple steps later on in this guide.
