Step
Remove the old window
You can remove the old window by removing screws from around the perimeter of the frame, then pulling it out. If you're replacing a single pane, take out just one screw at a time and hold it in place with a screwdriver until you've removed all of them
Step
Measure the inside width of your new window, then cut out two pieces of cardboard that are about 1 inch wider than your frame opening. Center these over your frame opening and tape them down so they don't move around or fall off during installation.
