While the process of installing a vinyl picture window may seem daunting, there is actually a relatively simple installation approach
Step 1: Measure the window you want to install. This will help you determine the length and width of your material
Step 2: Purchase your material from an installer or local home improvement store. Most vinyl windows are available in sizes ranging from 8 feet to 10 feet wide and 12 feet long
Step 3: Measure your window frame to ensure it will fit inside your desired opening. The frame should be able to support the weight of the material
Step 4: Cut out your window to fit inside your frame using a utility knife or scissors. Do not cut through any drywall, studs or other framing members that are supporting other parts of your house! If necessary, measure and cut additional pieces to completely surround the opening so they all fit together properly when installed
Step 5: Install one piece at a time, starting with one edge first and working toward the middle of your vinyl window until all pieces are in place and secure with screws or nails (if necessary). Place each piece where it will not interfere with another part of your house as you work northward toward you last leaning piece for support before placing
installing a vinyl picture windowPicture windows are large fixed windows that create the effect of framing outdoor scenery like a picture frame. Because picture windows do not operate, they’re often paired with windows that do. Picture windows can be assembled with or without a sash. Windows without a sash, also called direct glaze windows, can provide larger unobstructed views.
