The double hung window is a two pane, double glazed window. This type of window has a top frame that has two sashes and a bottom frame that holds the panes. The upper sash can be opened for ventilation or light, while the lower sash can be opened for privacy
Here are the steps for installing a double-hung pane window with a picture window
Step 1: Remove all old weather stripping from around the perimeter of the window opening. Remove old windows from inside of your home by removing screws from their locations and then prying them off with a pry bar or screwdriver
Step 2: Measure and mark where you want to install your new double hung window to ensure that it will fit properly over existing framing members or sill plates (if it will be replacing an existing window). You can also measure the width of your new door frame opening in order to determine how wide your new window should be
Step 3: Cut out holes in the drywall where you marked on both sides of your new door frame opening using a power saw or circular saw depending on which tool you have available at home. Make sure that there are no leaks anywhere in this area because water damage can occur easily if there are cracks occurring anywhere around this area
double hung window with picture windowPicture windows are large fixed windows that create the effect of framing outdoor scenery like a picture frame. Because picture windows do not operate, they’re often paired with windows that do. Picture windows can be assembled with or without a sash. Windows without a sash, also called direct glaze windows, can provide larger unobstructed views.
