1. Cut the sas
The first step in making a window seat is to cut the sash. Here's how
Step 1: Measure your window opening, including the width of the sash and add about 2 inches for a little extra room for cutting
Step 2: Cut an angle on one end of your sash board with a jigsaw or router table saw (make sure you have the proper blade). Then use a circular saw to cut straight down through both ends of the board at this angle. This will create a flat bottom on your sash that you can mount into your frame later on
Step 3: Transfer this angle onto your other end of the board using a compass and straightedge guide. Make sure that it's angled at 45 degrees from vertical (see photo below). This will ensure that when mounted into the frame it stands upright and doesn't wobble during installation!
