Observation: The Age of the Window Sill

The World's Most Beautiful Windowsil

Having viewed hundreds of windowsills, this perfect example instantly ended up on my list of the ten most beautiful. The photo was taken from a large picture window above the kitchen sink in a trendy condo building in downtown Toronto, Canada. A photo editor by trade, I offer no comment regarding the accuracy of the image or its use as a self-portrait nor do I know anything about the owner of this particular sill

As you can see, it is indeed an unlikely view but one that succeeds in capturing our attention and holding it captive. In addition to being visually striking, it also has an important thematic significance: it is a window sill that forms part of a larger composition that includes other elements such as cabinets, countertops and even light fixtures. In fact, this sill may be considered part of its own little world within this larger composition
