I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when I first looked at Window Seat. It's not the kind of book that everyone would like and it's not the kind of book that I would have picked up myself. But then again, sometimes you just need to take a chance on something new

Window Seat is a beautifully illustrated novel about a family who moves into their new house and discovers an old window seat in the attic. The children get excited about it because they think it is "cool" and functional. However, as soon as they try to sit down on it, they realize that it won't fit them at all! The only way that they can use this old piece of furniture is if someone else sits in it first and tells them how much space there really is underneath the seat

I really liked how this story showed how people adapt to their surroundings and learn from them. It also showed how people can sometimes be scared by things that seem strange or different than what they are used to seeing all the time.
