How To Install a Door Frame Swing Bar – 27 Step
Step 1: Measure the door frame and create a hole for the swing bar. Mark this hole on the door frame with a pencil
Step 2: Remove the old swing bar from the door frame
Step 3: Remove all screws from the old swing bar
Step 4: Use a drill to make holes for the new bolts in the door frame. Make sure that those holes are not too close or too far apart from each other. If you have too many holes, then you can use an exacto knife to cut off unnecessary parts of your new swing bar and then screw it into place
Step 5: Place some thin plywood on top of your old swing board so that it will sit comfortably in your new hole. Use two pieces of wood at least 12 inches long, but no more than 18 inches long in order to accommodate any future changes you may want to make to your door frame and its hardware
Step 6: Insert the bolts through their holes in your new plywood and then tighten them down with a wrench or socket wrench until they are securely fixed into place. Be sure that they do not come loose while installing them onto your new board!
door frame swing barSwinging doors are the most common style of door. They feature hinged panels that swing open and closed. Swinging doors are available in single panels or multiple panels. The direction a door swings, either to the right or the left, is called the handing. In addition to handing, exterior doors are identified as either inswing or outswing depending on whether they open into the house or towards the outside.
