How to Convert a Picture Window Into an Open Window

If you have a room that overlooks your lawn, maybe it'd look better to open the window up instead of closing it all the time. You can use this information to figure out how to convert picture windows into open ones and thereby improve the view from your living room or backyard

First, measure the width of your window so you know what size frame you'll need. Then, measure from top to bottom and from left to right to find out how much space there is above and below the window frame

Next, find out whether or not there's enough space above your existing window for a new one. If not, then you'll have to remove some of your existing casing around the frame in order for it be clear for installing another one on top of it

If there is enough space above your existing window for a new one, then measure from top to bottom and from left to right again in order to find out how much space there is between the two frames of glass in each side of your house

Next, measure from top to bottom again in order to find out how much space there is between each row of glass that extends down beyond the top edge of each pane in each side of your house. This measurement should be made while holding
